Frequently Asked Questions
Question:
I have taken the same class several times and really enjoy it. Sometimes I wonder if I should be "moving on to the next level" What do you recommend?
Answer:
All of the yoga styles popular in the west will help with strength, flexibility and balance. It depends on your particular temperament and your personal goals which yoga style is best suited to you. There is really no "one size fits all" yoga style.
The Yoga Hall classes range from very supportive and gentle, to physically challenging and aerobic. Of course there are lots of "in between" classes too. Your physical body has been created by a collection of variables, including genes, where you hold stress, how you breathe, sports, your daily habits, injuries, type and amount of activity and more. Your emotional state can be infuenced by the things that have occurred in your life, your feelings and your thoughts. The type of yoga practice you love best can also be influenced by your goals and motivation.
My suggestion to you is to follow your own inner guidance. Different types of yoga may serve us better at different times of life. A gentle and supportive practice may be perfect when your body or mind is in pain. A strong, aerobic and physically challenging practice may be the best choice when you want to build on physical fitness or to quiet a busy mind.
Do the class you enjoy. Just by continuing with your practice in a mindful way, you are already "moving on to the next level."
